ROFL - rolling on floor laughing

A Couple of Notes

GOH or GoH - Guest of Honor, parodying and imitating WDW’s practice this year of honoring which year park visitors visited WDW for the first time. Some people added this information, speaking about themselves, in their signatures at the bottoms of posts. It simply means the year the person writing the posting to the newsgroup visited WDW for the first time.

Emoticons - Emoticons: Punctuation signs that are arranged within text in such a way as to display the simulation of a face when viewed by turning your head to one side. Inserted into text to relay a facial expression or emotion/attitude to match the text, softens the text to “humanize” it somewhat and make it seem less harsh, less blunt, offered as friendly advice, etc., or to relay how news/information affects the writer.

 or  - Happy/smiling
:frowning: or :frowning: - Sad/frowning/disappointment
 - Very happy/Very big grin

Thanks for the list inluvwithdisney…

I would note that on this board DC means DisneyCentral not Disney Club, and Downtown Disney has been referred to as DtD as DD is normally thought of as Dear/Disney Daughter on DC :mickey:

#5

WOW! Even useing and knowing most of them, that list is rather overwhelming(but impressive!!) Have fun! You do become familiar with them very quickly!!

#6

Oh and by the way welcome to DC Tiggerette!

#7

Welcome!! We are all very glad to meet you, Tigerette!!

#8

Welcome Tiggerette!

#9

Crikey that list is big!!!

DD,DH,DS all stood for what I assumed they would stand for, so I’m not utterly out of touch yet, which is good

Thanks to you all for the greets. Been a long time lurker but have finally decided to crawl out of the woodwork and make my voice heard!

Nice To Meet You All Too!!

I have to say, that a lot of the abreviations are outdated. Example: AE(Alien Encounter is not there anymore). It is hard, but if you see an abreviation that you don’t know just ask!! We here on DC are friendly, and we don’t bite. LOL. Welcome to DC!

#11

Alien Encounters isn’t there anymore? Say it isn’t so!!!

#12

Long gone! It is in the process of being replaced by Stich’s Great Escape in Fall 2004. I know there is a thread somewhere about abbreviations, somewhere on DC. I will do some investigating

#13

I found it!! That is the best one I found.

#14

Thanks Disneyguy!

#15

Finally someone asked. I was afraid to ask what some of the lingo meant. I have to say it made for pretty interesting reading. Am I getting old or what? :crying:

#16

Don’t ever be scared to ask a question here on DC.
