Disney Cruise Line Sure knows how to

Spoil folks. I just got back from my third Carnival cruise. It was nice and I am sure that I will cruise with them in the future, but it was not a Disney Cruise for sure. The kids club would either closed for lunch or dinner depending on the day (disney feeds your kids for whatever meal they are there) also we had to take the kids thru a bar to get to the kids club!!! My kids loves hanging out in the kids clubs so one the port day we went to drop them off and there were no kids there, I asked my kids did they still want to stay and they said yes and the staff acted like they had a problem with it even though the club was open. There were a few other things but you get the picture. A few other parents were a bit shocked, because I heard a mom say “You don’t go thru this on Disney” and a dad said “This is a trip that you have to take your kids thru the bar to get to the kids club!”

Another thing this was the ship Fantasy, not sure of the kids club layout on the other ships because I didn’t take my kids on the other ships so I never checked out the club. The kids club for the younger kids was so small. sometimes they would take the kids to the disco for dance lessions, but they had to walk thru the smokey common area by the casino:blow: Just a pass thru had your hair stinking.

Please know this is not the case on all of their ships. I have cruised 15 times with Carnival- 6 of them with my children.

I have never ever had any problems with the kids club at all. My kids LOVE it (and I probably love the peace and quiet a little more!)

As much as we love Disney, DH and I just can’t leave Carnival. Maybe if DCL added a casino, we would give it a shot. Until then, we will stick to Carnival.

Well thanks for letting me know, because I was was so concerned if all the ships were like that. 15 cruises huh, you are a preferred member now with laundry services, priority boarding and the like. I am 7 away from that. Not sure if I will make 7 since I cruise with Disney also and I plan on giving RC a try. But it sure would be nice to get some perks.

My DH boss has done a lot of cruises and has told me to stay away from Carnival. He was suggesting going with some of the other line that target older people as there are less kids but still really well done children’s clubs.
There are times that I would like to go on a cruise but the price is really steep. Maybe there will come a day when we can swing it. However, seeing that the new ships do not have rooms for 6 people it will be on one of the older ships.
