Disney Mural?

#1

I saw this question on the Disney Insider E-mail. I wonder where this mural is located since it is in a non-public viewing area?

I know there is a mural at the back of the camera shop next to Tony’s. If you have not visited this during a quiet moment, you should.

YOUR QUESTION
In the 1970s I remember seeing an attraction at Walt Disney World where they showed a movie all about Walt’s dream and how Disneyland was born. In the queue area before entering the theater, there was a mural along the length of the wall featuring most if not all of the Disney Cartoon Characters. I’d like to know what happened to that mural. Was it covered up? Does it still exist somewhere?

    DAVE’S ANSWER
The mural, painted by Bill Justice with additions by Russell Schroeder, that was located at the entrance to the Walt Disney Story attraction is still there, but it is currently in a non-public area.

hmmm got me…I would love to see it though.

It’s at the camera shop on the right as you come under the tunnel. You have to ask a CM about it.

I’ve seen this. It is great and there is a little theatre there wher you can see Steamboat Willie. That is why I am surprised that he said it is in a non-public area. Maybe there are two?

I don’t think that there are two. Isn’t it behind a curtain and can only be seen with permission? that’s what he said “non-public area”

Dana has to go and check it out.

Everytime that I have gone, it has open for viewing and the theatre has been running. I volunteer to go check it out if we can take up a collection for my airfare!

I will throw in $2, but I get to go with you.

So this is different than the timeline of Disney movies that is on the back wall on the theatre? Hmm, I might have to ask about this in May. The Kodak shop is so fun to explore. I managed to peak behind a curtain last time and snap a phot of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride car.

Not sure. This is what we are discussing?

Hey now, you’re a rich Olando land owner, pay your own way

Truth be told, the bank is the rich land owner… we are more like sharecroppers.

This is why I love this site you always find out something you didn’t know about WDW.

If you are referring to the Animation wall by Tony’s, yes ask a CM about it…last time we were down I wanted to see it as we always made it our first stop wayyyyyy back in the day when we would go to WDW and I hadn’t seen it in forever and HB had never seen it…it is actually a closed area now, but if you ask real nice you might have a chance to check it out! I had to explain why I wanted to see it and to be honest the CM that secretly escorted me back there truly made my Dream come True! If you must know what the area is for PM me…
