Disney to bring classic underdog cartoon to silver screen

just read this in healthypet magazine… disney studios has teamed up with spyglass entertainment to bring the classic tv cartoon “Underdog” to the big screen. the film follows a dog named shoeshine boy that is endowed with superpowers as the result of a lab accident. the dog is then adopted by a 12-year-old boy who becomes his best friend and shares the secret that mild-mannered shoeshine boy is really the super pup, underdog. fans of the original will be happy to know that mad scientist simon barsinister and underdog’s inamorata, sweet polly purebred, will be seen in the silver screen version. shooting is underway, so underdog will soon save the day!!

I still haven’t quite understood why Disney is getting into George of the Jungle, Mr. Magoo, Inspector Gadget, or now… underdog.

Disney has a huge legacy of characters. Why get into these?
