Fantasmic Dinner Package- can I bring 1 extra person?

#1

So on an impulse, I added my nephew(11) to the trip. Some of you may remember he came with a few years ago

The airline changed my flight and I called to change it to a better time… Believe it or not, I could get on a flight that had a seat open for him AND I could use a coupon I had! So I booked it.

Now, I have issues…lol! I only have a few ADRs with 4 people. Two of my ADRs are for 3 people and difficult to get. Fantasmic! and Le Cellier are what I am worried about…
The other buffets I will just cross my fingers and hope they let us in!

What should I do about the two? Has anyone had recent experiences with this? I know if I call Disney Dining, they will say that they just can’t add a person without re booking the ADR so that is out because there is no availability.
Is there really a 3 person table at these restaurants? LOL Or, will they have to seat us at a 4 person anyway?
What about the vouchers for Fantasmic?
Thoughts?

We are a ‘3’ and we dined at Le Cellier and had a ‘4’ table and a spare chair! I wouldn’t personally do anything, I’d just turn up and I’m sure they’ll accommodate your nephew as an extra diner. I think if you call it in, you might lose the booking all together? I would imagine this happens quite alot, it wouldn’t be too difficult to add an extra chair surely?
Can’t help with Fantasmic as not familiar with the dining package there.

I’ve given this answer before to this question, I would just tell the CM when checking in you have 4 people. I would pretend the ressie was for 4 and someone on the Disney end made a mistake. They don’t have tables for three. So it really isn’t a seating problem if you bring a 4th person. I never understood why they make it such a big deal. Even if every table that put down it was a table for 3 brought a 4th person it wouldn’t back the kitchen up. Disney restaurants are set up to get people in and out an extra person here or there shouldn’t back them up.

I would never be dishonest about it. We had an extra a couple of times on our last trip and it was never an issue. I told them we added one on at the last minute and they were very accommodating.

I have had the same experience. We just tell them we have an additional person and there has never been a problem. Now if I added on a whole family, I imagine that would be a problem.

Just tell them party of four and don’t say anything. Knowing Disney, they will just accomidate you. If they give you an issue, just tell them he was added at the last minute or you can say there must be a mistake. Again, they will most definately just accomidate the fourth person.

I agree - just show up with the extra person - I’m sure they deal with this on an almost minutely basis.

Don’t you know that if you tell lies at WDW the Mickey Police will show up and beat you senseless?

Yes but…
As has been pointed out, the tables are set up in in multiples of two so either three or four people, you’d be using the same table no matter what. Additionally, you would of course be paying for the extra guest.
The only wrinkle might be, and this is a big might, they might, maybe, not have space on a bench for your extra person. Except that given the way people sit, the four of you could easily fit into the space the three of you would take up if you just squeeze together a little bit more.
After all, how many times do CMs make announcements to guests to keep moving all the way down aisles of seats, and so many don’t.

I would think that the restaurant would be happy to add another meal to be sold, and they will make space for you. If you brought enough people that you needed a larger table, I think that might cause a problem/inconvenience. I have never thought about anywhere at WDW turning away kids though… Just tell them that he was added at the last minute.

Thanks for all the responses!

 I am not sure by some responses if I was clear with my question… I was not worried about showing up with an extra person for a dinner ADR. That is not an issue. In fact, I screwed up an ADR once and had to! LOL! I know they accommodate as best as they can.

What I was concerned about was the Fantasmic! Dinner Package that has a voucher for the show for 3 people. Being we now will have 4 people it could have been tricky at the entrance gate.
It would be like showing up at Toy Story Mania with 3 Fast Passes and expecting 4 people to get in.

Luckily, it all fixed!!!

If you paid for 4 meals, regardless of the reservation, you would get 4 passes and not a voucher for a party of whatever size.
You would have been accommodated one way or another.
They always have some cushion built in for a few extra last minute guests in terms of the reserved seating section.

Also, you should be aware that the reserved seating section is all the way over to the right of the amphitheater (what we call extreme house right).
So you can picture this, this is the seating section where the riverboat first emerges from backstage.

We are a family of three, my uncle lives in the Orlando Area and he sometimes joins us at the last minute. It has never been a problem we just say party of 4 and we are escorted to a table. It has never been a problem and for us it happens almost every trip
