Have you ever?

Have your ever paid entirely to much for airfare, but booked it anyway because you were afraid it would go up even higher? Have you just booked it because you wanted your stuff paid in full entirely and didn’t care that if you waited you may or may not save another $75? Well, I did…this morning…it took me two hours to decide to do it, but I did…oh well.

BTW: Trip is 100% totally paid for…airfare, spending money and everything…gotta love it. Thank you Advance Auto parts for giving me a most excellent year end bonus…lol

Congrats Dana. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do… if you booked through one of those on line things at least if someone get a cheaper flight they will pay you the difference… what is that like orbitz or whatever.

#3

No, I went through to the airlines directly…oh well. I saved such a huge chunk on the trip itself, that I really don’t mind paying just a touch more for airfare. I wanted to fly out of a certain airport and knew I was going to pay a premium for it, but WOW…$638 for two? That includes baggage and seats, but sheesh.

#4

Yes I have and hated it, but since we are a family of five, I didn’t want to take a chance that couldn’t get five seats together on the same plane.

Yes, I have overpaid by nearly $600. per ticket last January. And yes, if the need to go to WDW is there, I will overpay again. Ummm…are there airline employees here paying attention to this thread? I hope not

Good for you. Couldn’t you change that if the lower priced tickets come back?

Nope, change fees for Spirit air are RIDICULOUS… I am flying out of Atlantic City rather than Philadelphia because it’s just a better experience. They have a 6:15am flight out of there making me land in Orlando at 8:30am, their parking is super cheap, the airport is small and sercurity simplified…tons of benefits. All that and my friend and her son are going for the first 5 days and I think it will be easier for her return trip home to be in that easier airport with a very active 6 year old…lol

#7

Congrats Dana… having everything paid (even if airfare was so expensive) your heading off to the most magical place in the world.

#8

Umm, I’ve never done that. I’m too cheap and stubborn. But it does feel good to have it paid for and to have it off your list. I hope you have a blast!!

#9

Oh, I need to talk to you about flying in and out of Atlantic City in the future.

#10

I normally wait and wait until I am pretty confident that I have gotten the cheapest price. But it is a good feeling to know that you are all done and not have to worry about it going back up. Congrats

#11

I did it once and the only way I knew I paid too much was that I checked the website and it went down by quite a bit so now I vow to never check again after booking. Isn’t having everything paid for and done wonderful.

#12

Just don’t think about it… Enjoy that it is done and paid for… Congratulations on your trip! I know you will enjoy it!

#13

Really??

#14

We like AC airport for those reasons as well. If you wear slipon shoes, it makes security even easier.

I checked air fare just before Christmas, and it was fairly reasonable. But at that time we hadn’t the funds available to book, so when we did book about two weeks ago, the fare had gone up quite dramatically.
We booked then in case it went up even more, but since then I haven’t dared look in case it had gone back down!

#16

We booked and probably paid too much, but I was nervous prices would go up the closer we got to our trip.

And way to go, Dana, on having the trip paid for! We are almost there, but should have no problem having all the money before the trip. I don’t think I would enjoy the trip as much if I knew we would have to pay for it afterward.

#17

Yup, I hear there are casinos over there

don’t look. It hurts to look

Congrats on having it all booked and paid for. My problem right now is that airfare is on sale and the 3 of us could fly for $500.00 from Detroit in Sept. But we aren’t even sure if we’re able to go yet. Hoping we’ll still get the same deal when/ if we book.

I booked our flight for next month back in August, but every now and then I check to see what the fare is. Just 3 weeks ago our flight was going for $72 o/w. I checked again this past Tuesday…same flight? $348. We had Frequent Miles so the cost didn’t matter to us, but what a difference for those that have to pay.
Congratulations Dana on having your trip paid off. So is ours and it’s a wonderful feeling. Oh, and congrats on the bonus. I know you deserve.
