Just back from 14 nights @ POFQ

Stayed there 11/7-21…

DME got us there around 10 am, and to our surprise, the room was ready, even though it was the end of Food & Wine as well as NJ Teachers’ Weekend.

Asked for and get building 5, close to the marina, food court, pool and pool bar.

Boat to DTD is an exceptional perk, it is a refreshing change from the busses.

Castmembers there were very friendly, we enjoyed meeting and chatting with Shelly at the pool bar, had no idea she’s been there over 10+ years!!

Housekeeping was decent, if not spectacular, we had zero issues.

The last couple of years, we had stayed at POR mainly because it has several pools from which to choose as well as an on-site sit down restaurant, whereas FQ doesn’t. What we found it the sheer size of FQ’s pool made looking for other swimming options unnecessary, and we weren’t able to use our Tables in Wonderland 20% card at POR due to the fact they had Boatwright’s on-site. the food court at FQ was just fine…loved the beignets!!..and the 20% off.

Unless FQ is sold out when we go to book, we won’t stay anywhere else…it felt like home again!!

To be honest, we really didn’t check out the refurb…on a couple of occasions the front desk staff put a message on our phone at night saying there would be ongoing work around the resort during daytime hours, or something of that nature. The one thing I truly miss about FQ is Bonfamille’s Cafe, this was the very first restaurant DW and I dined at in WDW as husband and wife, and it remained onr of our very favorites until the closing of the restaurant, which is now used as a test kitchen.

They should turn it in to a Mystery Dinner Theatre to include Guest participation instead of just sitting there watching a show. After all, Disney doesn’t have one and they are fast becoming popular again.
