Lightning McQueen Joins the Cast at Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show

From Disney Park’s Blog:

I’m happy to announce that Lightning McQueen, star of “Cars” and “Cars 2,” will make his debut appearance at the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this summer.

Look for his cameo when the stunt show director sets up a highlight reel dedicated to “one of the greatest race cars of all time.” But just as the crew leaves to set up for the next stunt demonstration, the highlight video feed is interrupted with a distress call from Mater, Lightning’s rusty sidekick. He warns the audience that secret agent Finn McMissile has issued a report of enemy spy activity at “these here coordinates.” Lightning McQueen speeds in to calm the audience down and explains that Mater is probably just telling tall tales again.

Just then, a mysterious black automobile appears on the stage. I don’t want to give away all the details here, but let’s just say what follows is quite an animated game of cat and mouse.

Guests who wish to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater before or after the show can do so at the Winner’s Circle (formerly Luigi’s Garage), which features larger-than-life trophies and posters that depict famous races from around the world. Be sure to check out Lightning McQueen’s upgraded international look, too.

That sounds fun. Maybe he’ll be there by the time we go in July.

#3

I hope he is! I think it will make a nice addition to the show.

#4

Looks like we’ll be going to see this show again! We’ve seen it a couple of times and I was gonna skip it during our next trip, but now…I gotta see it!!

#5

Looking forward to this show =)

#6

I hope if it all goes well with Lightning that they add Mator!!! I love Mator!!!

#7

Both “Cars” would be a hoot. I hope he hangs around for a while.

Ditto, I was thinking the exact same thing about our trip in August. We’ve seen it the last 2 times and I was fully prepared to skip it. Now there’s no way we can do that. DS 9 is a huge Cars fan, although sadly he seems to be hiding his obsession from his friends recently for fear that he’s too old for Cars. :crying:I can’t wait to pull out all of his Cars shirts for him to wear at WDW in August. He might not wear them at school anymore, but he’ll still wear them at WDW!

thats awesome! but i will miss herbie

#10

Aww, it’s a shame when they start to get too old. I think it’s lucky for him that you will be taking him to WDW where you are NEVER to old. I hope he enjoys Lightning McQueen.

#11

I’m not sure what will become of Herbie.

#12

Did they mention that Lightning is going to also be a full-motion audio-animatronic? With full working eyes and mouth? Making my characters even more real?

#13

Wow that makes it even more awesome=)

#14

Rowdy, you always give us the best news. That will make it so great!! I have no idea when I might get to see him, but I hope he hangs around for a long while.

#15

we have never done this always bypassed it… we will have to give it a try this year

Oh great!
How do I add this into the existing video, or do I have to start over from square one?
At 30 minutes plus, LMA is a real pain and because every show is slightly different than the last, really hard to sync up.

#17

Herbie without Buddy Hackett and Dean Jones just isn’t right.

#18

Definitely do it, it is a lot of fun.

You know they are doing this just to make life more difficult for you (lol). I would say you are going to have to start over.

Have never seen this show…don’t think I will, but I love that WW is forever changing things up and keeping us on our toes.
