New AP Discount Program

#1

Based on the Disney website it appears they’ve changed the AP discount program again. Don’t know the scoop yet…anyone who does please feel free to elaborate.

Here I am waiting to be able to book a trip on 4/23 and before today the “best rate” program only went though 4/16…NOW it only goes through 4/8!!! AUGHHH…

Yes they have!! Check mousesavers for accurate details, but the 60 day ahead requirement and that NASTY non-refundable deposit nonsense is GONE! Normal booking and cancellation policies again apply to AP holders!!

#3

Well…that is great!!! Now, if they’ll just let me book for my date I’ll be EXTREMELY happy!!

#4

Don’t worry - I have a feeling you’ll get your wish soon. I’m not one to talk, though, we’re going in August and I’m already watching for the codes!! Good luck.

#5

Oops - forgot to ask. How come you dont just go ahead and book and then apply the discount code to your reservation when they come out? You can cancel your reservation up to 6 days ahead if you don’t get a discount.

Mickey (Mouseketrips) is actually handling it…I’m just keeping my eye on it too. If the codes come out we’re staying at WL instead of PC so I’m just antsy!!

Is the Annual Pass worth getting if you only intend to visit once a year? I guess what i’m saying is will I save more money on my October trip or should i wait for something else?

#8

It depends on how long your trip is going to be and also if you can schedule your “next year” trip to where it overlaps in the same 12 months.

Check out this link (and also the links it provides) and see if that helps!

Good luck Allyson! I’ve never stayed there, but I hear WL is amazing. Friends of ours stayed there last summer and LOVED IT. I hope you get there.

#10

That’s what we do…we bookend trips in consecutive years to fall within a 52 week period and it is totally worth it.

#11

We eat at Whispering Canyon on every trip and have wanted to stay there for nearly two years…I do hope it works out!!

#12

I already booked a one-night stay at All Star Movies for the 28th!! I’m so glad that they brought back the old program.

I got this today in my allears newsletter Disney announced today (January 10, 2006) that it has replaced the Passholder Best Rate Program with a new “2006 Passholder Benefit.” The new program eliminates the 60-day advance booking requirement of the old Best Rate program. Passholders can now book a room right up to their travel period (subject to availability). Passholders who prefer to plan ahead still have that option and will now be able to see available offers online months in advance. Normal deposit/cancellation fees apply. Reservations for Passholders who have already booked a room through the Passholder Best Rate Program are not affected by this change.

Passholders can book online, or by calling 407-560-PASS (7277) to make reservations. Current resort offers include the following:

Available most nights 1/16 - 2/4/06: $79 per night plus tax at a select Moderate Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: BKE

Available most nights 2/5 - 2/15/06: $99 per night plus tax at a select Moderate Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: EZA

Available most nights 2/20 - 4/8/06: $80 per night plus tax at a select Value Resort in a standard room**
Booking Code: EZK

The number of rooms available at this rate is limited.

** Other room types are available at varying rates. Passholder must present his or her valid adult Pass at check in. Additional per adult charges apply if more than two adults (18 or
older) per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. Offer will also be made available to certain non-Passholders in other select promotions.

I called today to see if the AP discount would be better than my Fl. res. one, and no go. That’s ok with me, but I thought why not give it a try? I’ll keep my Florida resident discount and like it !!

I got AKL for one night in March for $185 including tax!! Yippiee!! So excited!!!
