LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Visitors to Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom told FOX 35 News that they were stranded on a popular ride for more than an hour.

Passengers who were riding the Pirates of the Caribbean water ride late Sunday evening tell us the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. One park guest said the ride stopped running, then she and others were told to remain on board the vehicle for almost two hours before being allowed to exit.

Of course there’s more but I loved this:

And in case you’re wondering if these stranded passengers had to endure verses of that catchy little sea shanty “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)” over and over and over again, Berry said that, after about 15 minutes, “They turned the music off … so we didn’t have to re-hear it.”

Reminds me of the time we got stuck at the very end of Spiderman for 15 minutes and we kept hearing The Ramones’ version of the Spiderman Theme over and over. It got old fast (and I love the Ramones!).

It was the ghost, George…

Could’ve been worse. They could’ve been stuck on IASW and had to listen to that over and over and over and over and over

do, do, do, do, do , do ,do …

After I saw this last week, DH refused to ride it for the rest of our trip.

I’m not going to lie-of all the places to be stuck in this world, Pirates is one of the best. See, you could be stuck at a desk somewhere. Not too bad of a time, if you ask me.

I was thinking the very same thing.
Then again, my wife used to have an alarm that played that ****** song, and she’s the kind of person that will hit the snooze bar for the next 30 minutes.

At some point, the chip got weird and it started skipping notes and that was the end of that alarm:biggrin:

(Yes, I know there’s a spelling error, but that was the only way to get around the naughty word filter:angel:)

Q: What’s a Pirae’s favorite letter?
A: Arrrrr?

Q: NO. You would think it is the Arrrrr, but it’s the Sea ©.

“yug yug yug yug yug” as Popeye would chuckle.

We got stuck on Test Track at the end of evening EMH for 45 minutes on our last trip. They finally let us out and walked us back through the entire ride. I hadn’t noticed the little walkway around the whole thing before, but it took us all the way back to the loading area/exit. We got stuck right after the part with the semi truck & just before we would’ve made it onto the fun loop! It was disappointing because we were there with another family and they’d never been on the ride, and by the time we got off there was no more time to catch Soarin’ as we’d planned. Just thankful we get to go fairly often.

Ahh bro, you just don’t know funny,

Tell that joke with some enthusiasm … guaranteed to break the ice at parties.

We got stuck on POTC for about 10 minutes late one night. It wasn’t too bad, except all that sloshing water around the boat reminded me that I should have gone to the restroom before getting on the ride. I can’t imagine having to wait almost 2 hours. Yipes!

I know funny. Funny is my best friend.

Stand by for stupid joke in:

That’s why the call me Doug Funny. (Incidentally, I hated that cartoon!)

I know it is the news and probably mostly true-but why in the world wouldn’t they let people off before TWO hours had passed? Really? There is no “danger” like on a coaster. They could have brought in canoes by then and personally escorted passengers- LOL! I am sure there is an evacuation plan in place. In fact, if you read the “making of Pirates” book, there is definitely plans in place from the fire dept.

I can’t imagine that they would wait that long to get people off. Especially at 10:30pm? Call me a cynic.
Stranger things have happened though…

Two hours on IASW would have been tantamount to waterboarding

I will put my my Pollyanna hat on now and find the bright side. I say two hours stuck on POTC, even if I had to listen to the song over and over, is better than being at home. At least I am at WDW. I could be cleaning the bathroom at home:blow: Okay, now Pollyanna has left the building.

We once got stuck on IASW for about 40 minutes and listened to the song for the whole time in the “Pacific” “surf” (for lack of a better describtion) section.

Yeah, I’ve been stuck for about 5-10 minutes on Small World once or twice too.
I also almost always have had to wait to get off Pirates because of the large backlog of boats just outside the unload platform and that of course means we’re stuck looking at the last Johnny Depp animatronic for at least 5 minutes.

We got stuck on Expedition Everest once. We had to get out of the car and walk back down - which was kind of neat - we were right at the back of the train and it was still on solid ground. The front of the train had been climbing that section where you can look out and see all of WDW - there is no ground under that part - and the people in the front had to climb out to the stairs in mid-air! I honestly don’t know if I could have done that…

Man - I would hve started climbing all over the place checking things out. I bet I could have gotten to Space Mountain.

 And you survived without being escorted away by men in long white coats??? I’m impressed.
That long would’ve surely sent me to the looney bin:wacko::wacko::wacko:
