Where can I find in Orlando

#1

Really BIG shrimp? I’ve seen them on a couple of
shows like Bizzare Foods and Anthony Bourdain.
They are either shrimp or prawns the ones that
you break at the tail and suck the “stuff” from the
head first and then the tail:eek: Think there is a
chance I could find some of these this December?
Any help out there? Comments? I thank you kindly

Heehee Franco you have just described one of my fav foods…crawfish:laugh:

After going back and reading i’m wondering if you are referring to crawfish. When boiled they’re bright red and look like mini lobsters???
If so then:nonono2:, you don’t want boiled crawfish in Dec. Fried, etouffee’s etc are fine as they’re prev frozen (blah) but better than from the sewers from abroad:eek:

No I do love the crawfish but the ones I want
are quite big maybe 6-8 inches in size. Come
on folks help me find them!

Are you looking for the jumbo shrimp;
or the shrimpy jumbos?

Franco, I found this online. It’s a Thai restaurant that serves prawns. I hope the link works. I pulled it from Yahoo.

Mickeyspal, yes the link worked. You must have
seen the Giant Prawns right? We are going in the
right direction and I thank you very much for look
ing around for me. I have looked at a LOT of
restaurants in Orlando with no luck yet. There is
one place its called Johnnies Hideaway where they
have something called “Madacascar Shrimp” I
might call them to see what they are. And the
quest continues.

Franco54. Poking around the web it looks like the Madagascar shrimp is what you are looking for. It seems to be a “branded” product. Here is a link with a picture and a description of its size.

Thanks Gatour, I think we are on the right
track. In fact I called down Florida
just now at a restaurant called “Johnnies
Hideaway” and talked a few seconds to I
think was a waitress. I think she was taken
back a little when I told her I was calling from
Boston but I asked her if they would be on
the menu at or around Christmas and she says
they would be but then I could not get it out
of my mouth to ask her if they are the ones
that you suck the juices out of the head.
Maybe one more call in a few days and ask for
a chef to talk to about them. Thier address is
Johnnies Hideaway 12551 State Road 535
Orlando Shopping Center. And I was surprised
by the address its in the Crossroads Shopping
Center right at the entrance to WDW. Thats
where I go for Dunkin Donuts for my DW.
